On the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola

The reader is presented with lectures by C. G. Jung, dedicated to the collection "Spiritual Exercises" ("Exercitia spiritualia") of Ignatius Loyola, the founder and first superior general of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits).
Ignatius Loyola, a knight and soldier, after being wounded (1521), experienced a spiritual conversion. "Exercitia spiritualia" is essentially a diary of his experiences, meditations, and prayers.
C. G. Jung offers a psychological interpretation of this practice, also comparing it to the meditative practices of Eastern traditions.
The reader will have the opportunity to view Christian methods of the journey to God in a new light, as well as see interesting parallels with alchemy and Eastern teachings.
