Modern Psychology

You are holding the first part of the lecture notes delivered by Carl Gustav Jung at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. This edition includes two volumes containing material from four semesters. The lecture material is quite rich. It covers the history of psychology and the views of various scholars, introduces and discusses the basic concepts of Jungian (analytical) psychology. The processes occurring in the unconscious are examined in detail, the connection between consciousness and the unconscious is analyzed, the concept of archetype is introduced, and the most important definitions that are fundamentally significant for understanding analytical psychology are revealed. The reader will become acquainted with methods for studying the unconscious, such as the associative test and dream analysis.
