Ancient Rome and Modern Capitalism: From Slavery to Slavery

The book attempts a metaphysical understanding of human history from Ancient Rome to the present day. Despite many changes in everyday life, incredible development of productive forces, and the emergence of many technical innovations, the person and society of Ancient Rome and our time are surprisingly similar. We commonly refer to the society of that time as a slaveholding system, and modern society as capitalism. Meanwhile, there was slaveholding capitalism back then, and today we have capitalist slavery. Two thousand years ago, humanity found itself on the brink of an abyss. Today, it balances over the same abyss. The reader is invited to ponder along with the author the mystery of human history, the reasons for the current global crisis in all areas of social life, and to think about ways out of the deadlocks of social, economic, and spiritual slavery.
