«Old Woman Isergil» — a famous story by Maxim Gorky, a classic of Russian literature. The work was written in the autumn of 1894, inspired by the writer's journey through Bessarabia. The generous southern lands, romantic landscapes, and the speech of the local inhabitants captured Gorky's imagination for a long time. He himself considered this story one of his best creations.
