The Silver Age – a time of turbulence, an era of changing styles. Poets seem to catch the tension of the time, a time of revolution, war, and cataclysms. They break familiar canons, creating their own uneven, distorted world of poetry, for which there are no longer laws of writing or spelling. Vladimir Mayakovsky and his innovative poetry are a bright example of futurism, a revolution in poetry, a new direction in the poetic genre. These are the poems of the future, with a distinctly expressed rhythm. The words seem to stamp each step of the lyrical hero as he walks his path through the pages of new books. Mayakovsky "tears" poetry apart, breaking the familiar form to convey the energy of a new time. This is the famous stepped writing of poems, which dictated a special, jagged rhythm. Accentual verse: in lines, the quantity of syllables is not important, but the number of stresses. Mayakovsky is a tragic poet, a herald poet, and a lyrical poet at the same time. Behind the external roughness hides a wounded, immense, and very lonely heart. The design of this book and the entire series "Poems on Wallpaper. The Silver Age" is an homage to the publication "The Judge's Garden." In 1910, in St. Petersburg, futurist poets printed an edition on the reverse side of wallpaper.
