Recognition of Ishvara. Ishvarapratyabhijna Karika. Part II

Before you is the translation from Sanskrit of the famous work of Utpaladeva (10th century) "Treatise on the Recognition of Ishvara", one of the most important philosophical works of Kashmiri Shaivism. Utpaladeva is one of the most influential philosophers of the Pratyabhijna school. He was also the teacher of Lakshmana Gupta, whose student was Abhinavagupta.

The book presents the translation from Sanskrit of the second part of the treatise, which is a continuation of the previously published first part. The main theme of the book is recognition, the realization of our true Self, which is identical to Paramaśiva, encompassing all that exists. Utpaladeva systematically builds a picture of the all-encompassing self-awareness of Paramaśiva as the true cause of the Creation, Maintenance, and Dissolution of the universe. 

The second part provides a profound and detailed description of various levels of manifestation and states of consciousness of the beings existing on them. The book includes a work by Alexander Orlov, dedicated to outlining various aspects of the spiritual path in Trika.
