Shri Muruganar, a Tamil poet and one of the most famous disciples of Shri Ramana Maharshi (1879–1950) — the most revered modern enlightened teacher of Advaita. Muruganar recorded the words of his Master in poetic form, "Guru Vachaka Kovai" ("Garland of Guru's Sayings"). This is the largest collection of the oral teachings of Ramana Maharshi, outlining his philosophy, carefully verified and corrected by him personally. Due to this fact, this book occupies a unique place in the Ramana library.
Muruganar himself was publicly acknowledged by Ramana Maharshi as "established in the state of inner Bliss".
The book consists of 1254 verses divided into three parts:
1) The Analysis of Truth;
2) The Practice of Truth;
3) The Experience of Truth
In the appendix, there are two articles by D. Godman:
"I AM" — the first name of God
"I" and "I-I" — a question from a reader
