The House Where I'm Not. A Story of Inner Silence, Other People's Expectations, and Choosing Your Own Path

Leona lives in perfect settings: a successful husband, a beautiful home, a "proper" future. Since childhood, she has been taught to be accommodating and to choose what others approve of, so her own desires have remained in the distant past. She left her dream of becoming a doctor and helping seriously ill children as "too dangerous" and "inappropriate." Years of obedience lead to apathy and depression. When the pills stop helping, Leona goes to a Tibetan monastery in an attempt to hear herself. During a dangerous climb in the mountains, stepping with a backpack filled with heated stones that symbolize suppressed fears and grievances, she finally realizes that with such a burden, it is impossible to either go back or move forward.

Will she have the strength not to fall apart? And will monastic obedience become a new cage that she will want to escape from again?
