Our plan is flawless. By destroying key bases of the Empire, we will shake its power and free our people. To sabotage operations, they have sent spies into our ranks, but soon we will expose them. In the next five nights, we will change the course of history or perish. We are the Resistance. The Empire will fall!
The Resistance is a party game of psychological deduction. The game can be played by 5 to 10 players. A game lasts from 10 minutes to half an hour. The Resistance was inspired by games like Mafia and Werewolf, but differs from them by having more game information for decision-making, intense player interaction, and the absence of player elimination.
Players can be either true Resistance activists or imperial spies. The game consists of 3-5 rounds of missions, during which participants must try to determine each other's sides and figure out whom they can trust. Each round begins with a discussion, after which the leader appoints the participants for the current mission. Players vote on whether they agree with this choice. Then, those sent on the mission secretly choose to support the mission or sabotage it, depending on their side. Depending on these results, the mission can be successfully accomplished (the goal of the Resistance) or fail miserably (the goal of the Empire). The team that wins three missions wins the game.
The Resistance 3rd Edition is a dynamic social-psychological game of hidden roles, deception, and deduction, in which players find themselves participants in an underground movement fighting against a totalitarian regime. Some players belong to the Resistance and aim to complete a series of missions, while others are spies trying to thwart plans while remaining undetected. The game revolves around discussions, suspicions, and attempts to figure out whom to trust. Each game creates a tense atmosphere where any word and action can change the course of the game. The third edition includes updated components and improved balance while retaining the classic mechanics that made The Resistance one of the most popular games in the genre.
