Hellenic Poetry

The collection includes works by Hesiod, Theognis, Sappho, Alcaeus and other prominent representatives of Hellenism who had a significant influence on the development of European poetry. This includes the Homeric hymns, celebrating the Olympic gods, poems based on mythological plots, and elegies in which the internal experiences of an individual are reflected. All these works illustrate the thematic and genre diversity of ancient Greek poetry.
