The set includes 64 cards with images (artist – Anna Arianova), 32 narrow cards with numbers and mathematical symbols, and instructions.
«Own-Stranger» – a set of metaphorical cards designed for working with experiences related to the desire to belong to a certain community, rejection by significant people or the need to live in contact with people who hold different values. The cards depict representatives of several «families».
People from the same family do not belong to any one community and find themselves in different situations: sometimes they work together on a common task, sometimes they argue and do not agree with each other, sometimes they meet members of other families in the same space, and sometimes, conversely, they find themselves surrounded exclusively by their own kind.
Using the set, one can explore how a specific person’s system of recognizing «own-stranger-other» is structured, how they organize their life in different communities, and how this life can be changed. This is especially interesting to do by involving the cards with numbers and mathematical symbols. In the instructions, you will find a psychological analysis of problems related to the experience of belonging, a brief outline of possible areas of work, and a description of specific psychological procedures using the cards from the deck.
