Erasure

Critics paid some attention to the novels of Thelonious Elliott, but his writing career stalled. His last novel was rejected by 17 publishers, and he couldn't break into the upper echelons of the literary community. He watches with irritation and resentment as a novel about the lives of African Americans, written by a woman who once visited relatives in Harlem for a couple of days, becomes a bestseller. In retaliation, Elliott writes his novel about the ghetto, which he doesn't even plan to publish, but the publishing house buys it, and this book becomes a super bestseller. “Erasure” served as the basis for the plot of the film “Pulp Fiction,” which won the “Oscar” and BAFTA awards in 2024.
