Etiquette Expressions in the Russian Language

The goal of this multifaceted practical manual is to teach foreign students how to communicate in a variety of situations, to expand their arsenal of linguistic tools with stylistically colored formulas of etiquette, and to improve their speech skills and abilities to understand spontaneous Russian speech. Special attention is paid to distinguishing commonly used clichés from expressions predominantly accepted in formal settings or in informal communication, as well as speech formulas characteristic of different social and professional groups of language speakers (youth, older people, representatives of the scientific and academic community, etc.). The material is organized by themes (greetings, introductions, congratulations, etc.); diverse creative tasks for each theme are mainly aimed at developing spontaneous dialogic and monologic speech. The manual is intended for foreign students studying Russian at an advanced level and can be used by Russian language teachers as a foreign language.
