The Russian State and Its Western Neighbors

The proposed book is dedicated to the study of Russia's relations with its western neighbors in the years following the Pereyaslav Council and the annexation of Ukraine, when the Russian state made great efforts to address the main foreign policy challenges it faced - the unification of all East Slavic lands and the conquest of access to the Baltic Sea. The work is based on extensive documentary material from various collections of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts. The book is recommended for a wide readership.
