The Widow's Steamboat

"The Widow's Steamboat" is a story about love and friendship, about youth and old age, about the female fate and the conflict between parents and children, about illness and death, about cruelty and mercy: human dramas - small and large - take place in the confined space of a post-war Moscow communal apartment, where by the will of fate five prematurely widowed women found themselves, very different both in their past and in their social and cultural level. Their home - their world - they call "the widow's steamboat".
