The Pianist

We are used to perceiving love and music as salvation, a possibility to escape from the cruel and cold world into a realm of dreams, into warm embraces. The story of pianist Erika Kohut shows how deceptive this attempt to escape can be.

Music is devastating, it takes all your strength, gives nothing in return, and destroys hopes of a successful career. Hopes of a harsh mother, from whom she received not support and approval, but only suffocating, unhealthy care.

A passion for a young man weighs heavily, destroys, and, devoid of emotional closeness, takes on twisted forms.

«The Pianist» – an outspoken tale of female loneliness, of the attempt to break free from the shackles of ordinariness and lack of love.
