Norwegian Tales

Norwegian tales — are a journey into the world of rugged fjords, dark forests, and snow-capped mountains, where the spirit of ancient Scandinavia is invisibly present. You will meet mountain trolls, faced with a dangerous joke, and a wise princess, whose beauty is unmatched by yours. Here, an ordinary shepherd can defeat a giant, and a resourceful boy — can make a deal with the devil and come out ahead.

The tales were published in the 19th century by Peter Asbjørnsen and Jørgen Moe — collectors of folk traditions and good friends from Christiania (now Oslo). Their names are inseparable from Northern Norwegian folklore, just as the names of the Brothers Grimm are inseparable from foreign fairy tales.
