Faust

The legend of the learned Johann Faust, who sold his soul to Mephistopheles in exchange for the promise to reveal the secrets of the universe, show the abysses of hell and heaven, and enrich him with new knowledge, has long stirred human imagination. Thus, Doctor Faust, to whom all kinds of wonders were generously attributed, became a hero of the German people.
