The Beast

1834. Madrid is under the grip of a cholera epidemic, claiming dozens of lives daily. Hospitals and shelters are overflowing, and the dead are no longer counted.
But it's not just the deadly disease that terrifies the city’s residents: in the... poor neighborhoods, dismembered bodies of missing people are increasingly being found. Everyone believes that these monstrously cruel murders are committed by a giant beast, which has come to be known as The Beast.
When eleven-year-old Clara goes missing, her older sister Lucia, not thinking of the danger, rushes to search for her. She is joined by Diego, a reporter leading his own investigation into the murders, his old friend, policeman Donoso, and an unusual monk skilled in martial arts—Brother Braulio.
In their search, they will find themselves in a closed world of secret societies, terrifying ritualistic ceremonies, and political intrigues, facing deadly danger more than once, and they will discover a mysterious signet ring with crossed hammers, for the possession of which many are willing to kill.
