Returning from Italy after many years of... study, sculptor Florence Listratov did not know he would get stuck in his native village, accused of murder.

The villagers are unaware of why the esteemed Mr. Obukhovsky stepped into the blazing fire and perished in it. Florence, whose only weapon is the keen eye of an artist, is recorded as a suspect. He notices that the local romantic villain has a stash in a cluttered room and has a connection to a very popular individual in the family chronicles. Perhaps these circumstances are somehow connected to the fiery execution?
