Sweet Thing

In the town of her childhood on the southern coast of England, the famous writer Becket Ryan has not been for more than ten years. She long ago severed ties with her parents, but now both have passed away within... a week of each other, and she must attend the funeral. Upon her return, Becket discovers that the locals hate and condemn her to the same extent that they once loved and revered her father and mother.
Yet the townspeople did not truly know the Ryans. No one really knew them.
But in the midst of the icy sea of hostility, Lynn appears, the only one who regards Becket with warmth and sympathy. In childhood, Lynn was her best friend, and now she has become a devoted fan. But... Becket is sure she has never met this Lynn before.
And as she gets to know the locals, childhood memories are surfacing from the depths of her mind - events she would rather not remember.
