MY. Essays on Russian Literature

In the new independent publishing house BA book, founded by Boris Akunin, a new book by Mikhail Shishkin entitled "My. Essays on Russian Literature" has been published. This book is a look at Russian literature through the lens of war. Here is a brief introduction from the author:
"What is wrong in the world created by Cyrillic? Why literature, if it did not save us from either the GULAG or the SMO? An artist keenly feels what is to come. Malevich's Black Square is a glimpse of the future he saw, which included the First World War, the Civil War, the GULAG. I think I am not the only one who currently feels Russia as a black square. The fate of writers is, alas, indifferent to literature; it cares only for texts. Texts will be born as long as the language is alive. But why literature?".
