Psychoanalytic Theories of Development

Based on thoughtful and meticulous analysis of various psychoanalytic and other theories of child development, an attempt has been made to trace the interconnections of all the aspects of development highlighted by these theories, the metapsychological constructs they propose, as well as clinical phenomena and empirical facts. The authors have managed to show that different indicators of development can be integrated into a unified system of understanding, which paves the way for the creation of a scientifically grounded general theory of psychoanalysis. The book will be interesting not only as a textbook in which different views on the problem of development are systematically presented, but also as a fundamental work addressed to specialists, valuable for its deep heuristic approach to one of the most difficult problems in psychology.
