Art. How to Understand and Enjoy It

Dasha Kozlova – a lecturer-popularizer of art, a professional artist, a graduate of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov (workshop of V.I. Telin). For over 11 years, she has been conducting lectures and workshops, teaching audiences to reflect while interacting with art. Author of the method "4 Questions for Understanding Art", through which more than 2500 participants have gone.

Aся Asvoinova – artist, illustrator. Author of illustrations for documentary and animated films: "Boris Dobrodeev. 'Mosfilm' in the Winds of History", "Underwater World", "Space", "IQ Dino", "Magic Kitchen". Author of illustrations for books: "Cosmic New Year. A Practical Guide for Parents on How to Play with Children" (Anna Morozova), "Art. How to Understand and Enjoy It" (Darya Kozlova), as well as illustrations for the Bosco company.


This book for me, as a contemporary artist, is a creative and philosophical reflection on how art works and interacts with the viewer. This book is an experiment in which I invite you to participate: can we understand art without anyone's help?
Visual art without personal experience of living, only based on ready-made answers does not provide the experience of connection and true engagement with the work. Art gives us answers about ourselves. It is a big metaphor, a mirror, and a conversation partner.
I want to legalize the opportunity to think independently, not to rely on someone's expert opinion when interacting with art. Any point of view reconsidered or changed in the process of reading the book will significantly diversify your perception of both art and the world as a whole.
