George Orwell gained wide recognition as the author of the dystopian novel "1984" and the novella "Animal Farm". These works exposing totalitarianism have become modern literary classics.

During the Second World War, he hosted a program on BBC until 1943, and then became a columnist for the newspaper "Tribune".
