George Orwell gained wide fame as the author of the dystopian novel "1984" and the novella "Animal Farm." These works, which denounce totalitarianism, have become modern literary classics.

At the same time, Orwell created not only vivid artistic but also sharp journalistic texts. During World War II, he hosted a program on the BBC until 1943 and then became a columnist for the newspaper "Tribune." Analyzing the political realities of that time, Orwell came to the disheartening conclusion: even in countries that were considered bastions of democracy, the rights and freedoms of people are trampled upon by the prevailing system.
