Era of Heroes

The events of the novel begin in September 1939, when German troops swiftly capture Poland.
In a family of Russian emigrants, discord arises: Pelageya's parents urge her to flee to the Soviet borders, but her husband Ivan is against it. And fascist planes are already over the settlement... The appearance of the Red Army is perceived by everyone as a thunderclap out of a clear sky. The people rejoice, welcoming the liberators. But ahead lies war.
Before the reader unfolds a three-dimensional and multi-layered picture of the events of the Great Patriotic War. Retreat and betrayal, the Uman pit, slavery in Germany, escape from a concentration camp. The evacuation of factories to the Urals, the heroism of the rear, the feat of Magnitogorsk, which became "the grave for Hitler." The Battle of Moscow, battles under Stalingrad, large-scale partisan movements, and the secrets of the underground movement in the Minsk ghetto.
In the harshest conditions of war, the heroes must make difficult decisions, sometimes risking their own lives. Who will stand firm and refuse to collaborate with the fascists, remaining loyal to the Motherland? Who will falter, and what will be the price? The author immerses the reader in the deep thoughts of the heroes about the fate of the Motherland, about the reasons for the unity of the people in the face of the enemy.
But even the most severe trials will not allow a strong-spirited person to lose themselves and give up what they believe in. And no hardships of war will stop the young Soviet state on its path to victory.
