Tao Te Ching. Canon of Dao and De

Tao Te Ching — "Canon of Dao and De" — is one of the main monuments of Chinese thought and all of Chinese culture, arising in the Eastern Zhou period (8th–3rd centuries BC) and later presented in the form of a canon, encompassing several centuries of Daoist practice experience. Tao Te Ching contains the fundamental concepts of Daoism, revealing them on various levels. The multilayered meanings embedded in the canon allow for the continual rediscovery of all its aspects as the reader personally progresses. Each stanza of the new modern translation of the canon is also presented in the original language, providing an opportunity for further engagement with the text.
