Romanovs

For three centuries of the Romanovs on the throne, much changed in the country - the autocratic power remained unchanged. Its bearers played various roles in history, acting for the good of Russia to the best of their abilities, strengths, and understanding. Among them were bright personalities, eccentric figures, and inconspicuous characters, reformers and conservatives, the Most Peaceful, two Great Ones, the Unforgettable, the Liberator, the Peacemaker, the Bloody... Some paid with their lives for their time on the throne: Ivan VI spent 23 years in captivity and was killed during an attempt to free him, Peter III and Paul I fell at the hands of conspirators, Alexander II became the victim of a terrorist attack, and Nicholas II was shot on the decision of the Ural Council.
The book by Doctor of Historical Sciences Igor Kurukin, in anticipation of the four-hundredth anniversary, gathers all the reigning Romanovs under one cover, telling the story of the dynasty, which began in 1613 in the Kostroma Ipatiev Monastery with the invitation to the throne of its first representative and ended in Yekaterinburg in the Ipatiev House with the execution of the royal family.
