In Chornograd, something is amiss. And witch Kosara had so hoped that now that magic had returned to her and she became the owner of a full twelve shadows, everything would go back to normal... But ominous events follow one after another. A fierce frost has reigned in the city-fortress surrounded by a magical Wall, despite it being summer. The owner of a luxurious salon on Main Street has been found dead, without a head and both of her shadows. Monsters have been spotted that should only appear on Dark Days, which come after the New Year. Cracks are appearing in the sky. The barrier between the worlds of humans and monsters is about to collapse ahead of schedule, and Kosara begins to suspect that the cause lies in her own actions... Meanwhile, on the other side of the Wall in Belygrad, policeman Asen is searching for the only clue in his latest case. He obtains an invitation to a secret auction of magical artifacts and somehow ends up straight in the dangerous, monster-infested Chornograd...
