Creativity Set - Bas Relief. Shark

Bas relief is a plaster image with three-dimensional elements that can be painted. In the process of creating plaster bas-reliefs, the child develops their artistic taste, fine motor skills, and patience. The bas-relief in this set features a mermaid and... a dolphin. This cute image will decorate the interior and add a special color to the children's room.

How to work with plaster?   
You will need a comfortable workspace, preferably covered with newspaper or a plastic tablecloth. It is better to work in an apron or old clothes, so you don't have to worry about getting dirty. 
Prepare a container in which you will mix the plaster solution. This can be a disposable cup, a yogurt cup, or any other container that you won’t mind throwing away later. Help the child dilute and pour the solution into the mold, and extract the bas-relief after it dries.

Attention! It is prohibited to pour liquid plaster down the drain!
1. Set the mold in a horizontal position.
2. Make the solution. To do this, pour water into the prepared container and gradually add the plaster while constantly stirring with a spoon or stick. Dilute the plaster to the consistency of liquid sour cream in a ratio of 3:2, i.e., 3 parts plaster and 2 parts water. Note that the plaster sets quickly, within 10 minutes, so you need to pour the ready solution into the mold immediately.
3. Carefully pour the solution into the plastic mold. To ensure there are no air pockets and the mixture fills the entire container evenly, shake the mold slightly. Remove any excess solution to make the surface of the casting as smooth as possible.
4. Leave the blank to dry for about 40 minutes.
5. Remove the casting from the mold. If the bas-relief doesn't come out, gently tap the mold against your palm. The casting should be smooth and sturdy.
6. You can start painting the bas-relief 2–3 hours after casting. But it’s better to be patient and do it the next day, allowing the plaster to fully dry.

Important information:
• In case of plaster getting into the eyes, rinse the eyes abundantly with water. Seek medical attention immediately. 
• If plaster is swallowed, rinse the mouth thoroughly with water and drink fresh water. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately.
• In doubtful cases, seek medical attention immediately. Take the plaster and/or plaster product, as well as its packaging and instructions.
