In Saint Petersburg, children are disappearing – without witnesses, without traces. No one can find them: neither the police, nor volunteers, nor… the Institute of Hypothetical History, which protects people from supernatural forces. A tenth-grader named Margo also loses her... sister, and the girl embarks on a quest to find her. But she encounters Vasily, a young restorer who has fallen into trouble after an encounter with beings from another world. They realize that the strange happenings in the city are interconnected. Only the employees of the Institute can help unravel this mystery. Sensing paranormal activity, they reach out to the young people. Together, they get caught up in a game of the Supernatural, from which they can only emerge alive under one condition – to untangle the web of history. What secrets does Saint Petersburg hide?
