Is New York gripped by panic? For a ruthless killer is on the loose in the city. Almost nothing is known about him. Only that he carries the nickname "The Bishop," which he gave himself, and leaves messages at the crime scenes with children's verses. He also sends these poems to newspapers to bring attention to his bloody deeds. The police are baffled, and the elaborate murders follow one after another.
