The Man from Cafe Krantler

Andreas Kupler is a successful sports commentator in Nazi Germany, an aesthetic and music lover. His wife is a fan of the Führer and Goebbels, her dreams limited to happy motherhood. The life of this young, beautiful, and seemingly harmonious... couple is poisoned by internal torments of both: Andreas clearly sees that the country is heading for a downfall and resists the attempt to drag him along; Magdalena dreams of a child and, in despair, loses the ability to think clearly. The 1936 Winter Olympics should have been a new peak in Andreas's career, but instead, they become a point of no return. Events in the snowy Alps leave him no choice—and at the same time allow him to become himself: he stops playing by the rules of the Nazi regime and establishes his own.
