Papyrus

This narrative is an attempt to join and continue the adventure of book hunters. I wanted to try to become their companion in the pursuit of lost manuscripts, unknown stories, and silent voices. It is possible that they were merely... hounds in the service of rulers tortured by delusions of grandeur, unaware of the importance of their task, considering it absurd, and at night under the open sky, when the last embers of the campfires were dying out, grumbling that they could no longer risk their lives for the dreams of a madman. Surely they would have preferred to embark on endeavors that promised easier promotions: quelling rebellions in the Nubian desert or inspecting cargo on Nile barges. In any case, I suspect that in chasing all the books in the world as if they were particles of a scattered treasure, they were unwittingly laying the foundation of our world.
