Japan. The end of the 19th century. A troubling time of the Meiji Revolution. Two brothers, Tatsunosuke and Tetsunosuke Ichimura, serve in the ranks of the Shinsengumi – the samurai detachment of shogun Yoshinobu Tokugawa.
