Scale model - Passenger liner Titanic.
Historical reference: On April 10, 1912, the Titanic departed from Southampton on what turned out to be its last voyage.
There were 2224 people on board, of which 1316 were passengers. In its advertising campaign, the...
ship's owner actively used the claim of the "unsinkability" of the Titanic, and it could not be called unfounded.
Thanks to its design, the Titanic could remain afloat if two of its sixteen watertight compartments were flooded. It was indeed hard to imagine the damage that could sink this ship.
Despite this, on April 15, 1912, after sustaining numerous small breaches due to a collision with an iceberg, the Titanic sank just 2 hours and 40 minutes after the collision. Of the 2224 on board, only 711 managed to survive.
