Historical reference: The Il-86 aircraft is the first serial domestic wide-body passenger aircraft. The development of the Il-86 was initiated by the S.V. Ilyushin Design Bureau in the early 1970s. The first flight of the... prototype aircraft took place in late 1976. The Il-86 began operating with the airline "Aeroflot" starting in 1980 and is one of the main aircraft used on Russian airlines.
