The Master of Sugar

At the end of the 19th century. Cuba. A refuge for the unfortunate native inhabitants, daring adventurers, and all sorts of businessmen arriving from the other side of the world to make some money. A land where old secrets and... new beginnings clash, saturating the air with the scent of tobacco, gunpowder, and molasses and creating an unique atmosphere.
This is the story of Mar and Paulina – two young Spanish women. Their lives were completely different from each other. Mar dreamed of following in her father's footsteps and becoming a doctor, while Paulina, a young widow, still dared to hope for simple female happiness.

What could possibly intertwine their destinies?

But it took only an invitation from a Cuban hacienda, written by the master of sugar, Victor Grimani, in which he proposed that Mar's family move to Cuba to manage his clinic, and for Paulina to become his wife… Thus begins this adventure full of passions, secrets, and twists in a country on the verge of fighting for its independence.
