Mendeleev, a brave soldier of the Russian Empire, participates in fierce battles on the Eastern Front. Learning that the German Empire is planning to use gas weapons at the fortress of Osowiec, where his son serves, he and his comrades rush to intercept the train with chlorine. However, the enemy has prepared not only this weapon. Mendeleev's son experiences all the contrasts of war: from the truce between enemies at Christmas, meeting the emperor to fierce engagements. Will they manage to defend the fortress of Osowiec and prevent the enemy from advancing deeper into the country?
