The Country of Spiritual Distances. About Russia

The book by the largest Russian philosopher N.A. Berdyaev (1874–1948) "The Country of Spiritual Distances. About Russia" is dedicated to his 150th anniversary. Its title is derived from a quote by Berdyaev. The book consists of the philosopher's fundamental works: the collection of journalism "The Fate of Russia" (1918), the articles "The Death of Russian Illusions" and "The Spirits of the Russian Revolution" (1918), the work "The Origins and Meaning of Russian Communism" (1937), and the final reflections on the Motherland "The Russian Idea" (1946). As an appendix, substantive memories of Berdyaev by the translator, critic, and memoirist E.K. Gertsyk (1878–1944) are included.
This edition allows for an understanding of the development of the philosopher's views throughout his journey, has timeless socio-historical significance, and is addressed to specialists in the humanities as well as a wide range of readers.
