Bluebeard. Not Children's Tales

This genuine collection, traditionally published under the name of the French writer and poet Charles Perrault, consists of eight prose tales, likely written by his son Pierre Perrault d'Armancourt (his name appears in all lifetime editions of the tales), selected... and edited by Perrault himself, as well as three tales in verse — "Griselda," "Donkey Skin," and "Amusing Wishes," — whose authorship undoubtedly belongs to Charles Perrault himself. The reader will become familiar with the tales unabridged, in the form in which they were conceived. They are brutal: they contain blood, tears, hunger, cannibalism... It is no wonder that the analysis of this collection has engaged not only literary scholars, folklorists, linguists, and ethnographers for centuries, but also psychoanalysts.
