Dandelion Wine

In the summer of 1928, twelve-year-old Douglas Spaulding spends his time in his hometown in Illinois. It seems to be an ordinary summer. But Douglas is growing up and is beginning to think about things he hadn't thought of a... year ago. For example, about the dandelion wine that his grandfather makes every summer. The wine holds in it the time when the flowers were picked, healing the sick family members during the winter. Suddenly, Douglas realizes that each bottle of wine conserves one summer day. To not lose his thoughts and feelings, Douglas begins to keep a diary. Its pages, along with the book, give the reader warmth, as they preserve the memory of a happy childhood that has faded away with the summer of 1928.
