Wolf Time is a panoramic story about the first decade after World War II, when Germany was emerging from the ruins of the Hitler regime and transforming into a modern democracy. The country was divided into occupied zones, cities lay in ruins, and a large part of the population lost their homes. Everything that had previously united people was completely destroyed. The Germans were reluctant to admit their guilt for Nazi crimes - the trauma of the post-war period proved to be worse for many than the war itself. But devastation, hunger, and the need to fight for survival did not prevent them from falling in love, having fun, and dreaming. It was a time of wolves, when everyone cared only for themselves and their pack, but also a time for the invention of new politics, new literature, new art, and a new worldview. 

The book by German publicist Harald Jener became a bestseller in Germany and has been translated into six European languages.
