Both of them are thirteen years old, they have similar names — Adrien and Adrian — and a whole bunch of common interests: first love, failures at school, complicated relationships with parents. They discuss all this in their correspondence, taking... turns throwing letters into the mailboxes that mysteriously appeared next to their houses. And although the mailboxes are different in color from the ones the boys are used to — Adrien in the city, and Adrian in his village — the letters reliably reach their addressees. However, with each subsequent letter, the boys begin to feel as if a good hundred years have passed between them: Adrian does not know what the word "cool" means and what sneakers are; Adrien does not understand how one can live without a mobile phone and the internet.
