Presence

Patsy Rodenburg talks in her book about such an important human quality as Presence. The author claims that this natural state of a person implies the ability to build relationships with the maximum degree of attention, openness, contact - giving and receiving. At the same time, she also distinguishes two other states that represent non-presence; all together they constitute three ways of communication, or three "circles".
Patsy details why Presence is necessary for well-being. In this state, a person is more attentive to those around them, their reactions become faster, they are able to define safety boundaries, avoid unpleasant situations, and create healthy relationships. Her method of developing the state of Presence is based on years of experience in teaching acting, includes work with the body, breathing, and voice, and is widely applied in all fields and professions. It has a high potential to truly change people's lives for the better.
