In April 1579, the famous pirate, Captain Francis Drake of the "Golden Hind," boarded the Spanish galleon "Cacafuego." In addition to the rich loot, the pirates took a dark-skinned slave woman named Makaya from the ship. Who is she to... the English — a prisoner or a guest?
