Shy twenty-five-year-old Raif leaves the Turkish province to head to Berlin and master a new profession. There, amidst the bustling streets, elegant museums, and cabarets, he falls in love with a woman in a fur mantle, whose image has been captured on canvas at an art exhibition. The Madonna becomes his obsession, and for several days he returns again and again to contemplate the painting, until one day he encounters the woman in real life…
