Medicine and Kabbalah

The approach of the Jewish tradition to health and medicine can be understood based on the fact that in ancient times, when a Jew fell ill, he did not need the services of doctors. Instead, he analyzed his actions and sought how he had violated the will of the Almighty, for sin is the cause of illness. By discovering the cause, a person knew how to correct his behavior and thus how to heal himself.
Later, when people lost their previous spiritual level and began to pay more attention to the material aspects of things, "...doctors were granted the right to treat," and now we not only can but are even obliged to make use of medication and doctors' services. Only a few, whose spiritual level is high, can do without medical services and heal themselves with ancient methods. It is known that the brother of the Gaon of Vilna treated himself, never turning to doctors. The goal of this work is to shed new light on the subject of health, seen through the mysteries of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet. According to the Written and Oral Torah, letters are the tools with which God created the entire universe and mankind.
