The Ghost Book of Lord Halifax

“The Ghost Book of Lord Halifax” is a collection of amazing and mystical stories compiled by the second Viscount Halifax, Charles Lindley (1839–1934). Lindley, a British aristocrat, diplomat, and prominent figure in the Anglican Church, was known for his passion for the supernatural. Throughout his life, he gathered testimonies of encounters with ghosts and other unexplained phenomena, recounted to him by prominent lords and ladies, squires, and reverend fathers, virtuous maids, and butlers. Over time, these frightening stories formed a whole book - a true anthology of fears and beliefs from the late Victorian era.
In this collection, the reader will find both folk legends and retellings of gothic novels, as well as personal stories from eyewitnesses, vividly transmitting the atmosphere of mysteries and horrors.
