Psychology of Experience

The new expanded and revised edition of the book by the outstanding psychologist and psychotherapist F. E. Vasilyuk (1953 - 2017) is dedicated to the exploration of critical life situations and the processes of overcoming them. It also introduces the reader to the origin and theoretical basis of the author’s psychotherapeutic approach, "understanding psychotherapy." Experience is one of the central categories of this approach and is viewed as a special kind of internal work of the individual to restore the possibility of realizing the deep necessities of life, filling it with meaning.

The Appendix contains selected articles by the author that develop the main ideas of the monograph. The book is intended for psychologists, psychotherapists, philosophers, historians of science, and anyone interested in the issues of human inner life.
